| Kamloops, B.C.; The Tourism Kamloops ‘Double Dog Dare’ campaign wrapped up on June 30, 2010, where almost 20,000 votes were cast for TV Meteorologist and Kamloops’ Home Town Boy, Mark Madryga, to perform three ‘Double Dog Dare’ Challenges. The top three were driving a race car, taking on NHL stars past and present in a game of road hockey and a walk on role in the Rocky Horror Show. Now, the video of the challenges, complete with all of the behind-the-scenes action and revelry, is ready to view.
“We’re excited to launch the ‘Double Dog Dare’ Challenge videos,” says Tourism Kamloops CEO Ms. Lee Morris. “Mark had such a great time in Kamloops with his family, and this will be a great way for those who ‘Double Dog Dared’ Mark to do these challenges see how fun, and challenging, they really were. I have to tell you, there’s a ton of hilarious and surprising footage to be seen,” Those wanting to view the three videos need only to visit the Tourism Kamloops website. In the driving a race car challenge video, viewers will have the chance to see Mark drive Jason White’s race car solo and be a part of starting the main race. In the NHL road hockey challenge video, see Mark get some helpful encouragement from Digger as he does his best to stop shots in the ‘Slap Shot Challenge’. Then in the Rocky Horror Show walk on role challenge video, Mark gets the full makeup and hair treatment and performs the entire ‘Time Warp Dance’ with the Project X Theatre Productions team in front of a sold out audience. “My time in Kamloops was certainly unlike any other this time around,” jokes Mark. “These dares were all really fun, and certainly challenging. Never have I been to Kamloops before and had to wear fish net stockings and sport a pink faux-hawk. It was a great adventure and people will get a good sense of the fun we all had by watching the videos! I can hardly wait to see what I get to do next in my hometown city of Kamloops!” For More Information: Ms. Lee Morris CEO, Tourism Kamloops P: 250.372.8000 C: 250.319.4247 E: lee@tourismkamloops.com
